Siti Nurjanah is the Director and the Co-Founder of the Women and Youth Development Institute of Indonesia (WYDII). She earned her MA in International Development from Heller School for Policy and Management, Brandeis University, United States of America in 2007. Nurjanah’s background is in journalism for several tabloids in Indonesian and radio broadcaster for Voice of America (VOA) Washington DC.
Dr. Nuril Hidayati is a senior lecturer at the Islamic State of Kediri, East Java, Indonesia. She holds a PhD from the Islamic State University of Sunan Ampel, Surabaya, where her dissertation research focused on Islam and gender empowerment. She is also active in advocacy for the rights of children with disabilities and against violence towards women that uses religious justification.
Erma Susanti is a provincial parliamentarian member of East Java. She is also the Chair of the Women's Political Caucus of East Java Province. Currently, Erma holds the position of Deputy Chairperson of the East Java PDI Perjuangan political party and serves as the Vice of DPD PDI Perjuangan Provinsi Jawa Timur. She is a leading parliamentarian member who persistently fights for the betterment of women's and children's rights. Erma was re-elected for a second term, receiving higher votes than in the 2019 provincial election.
He is an Associate Professor at Islamic University of Jember (UIN KHAS), East Java since 2016. Prior, he taught at Da’wa Department (Communication) Islamic University of Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara until 2016. He earned his Doctorate degree with summa cum laude from IAIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya (2012). His dissertation was selected as the best research dissertation from the Religious Ministry and published in a book, titled
Professor at Murray State University, Kentucky. Professor Handayani earned her Ph.D. from University of Kentucky with research specialty in Soil Ecology. She earned her Master Degree in Soil Management from University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and her bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia. Professor Handayani teaches 12 graduate and undergraduate courses including Sustainable Agriculture; Agroecology; Climate Change Impact on Agriculture; World Food, Agriculture & Society; Advance Soil Fertility; Soil Management; Agricultural Environmental Management Systems; Soil Judging; Research in Agriculture; Organic Agriculture and Soil Science.
Jull is a tireless environmental activist. Leading community for justice. An environmental advocate in North Sulawesi. She leads numerous critical environmental justice advocacies, assisting the community in seeking justice from companies operating in the mining sector such as PT Newmont Minahasa Raya. Jull organized a lawsuit - and won - against the mining company, demanding relocation, and health care for those suffering from the effects of its mining activities.
Mareska Mantik is an Election Specialist who nearly 2 decades work with international non-profit organization, such as BRIDGE and UNDP Indonesia. Mareska is the avid supporter of WYDII since its founded in 2011. She helps set up WYDII work on women’s political participations and develop the training program for female legislative candidates since 2014. Mareska earned her graduate degree in International Development from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management of Brandeis University in 2008.
Rakhma Wizati Puteri is a School Counselor and AP Coordinator at Surabaya Intercultural School (SIS), Indonesia. She is also the lead Counselor of Hotline Sahabat Ibu, where she oversees programs focused on mental health and youth well-being, aligning with her expertise as an educational and developmental psychologist. In her role, Rakhma collaborates with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to foster a supportive environment for students. She addresses issues such as general anxiety and leads programs that equip youth with the skills to manage their mental health, build strong relationships, and develop a positive self-image. Through Hotline Sahabat Ibu, she ensures that mental health resources are accessible, providing students with the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.
